Get to Know the Photographer

You wanna know about me? You sure? Okay then, Lets Go!

Hi! My name is Mary! I am the Owner and Photographer at Wild and Free Photography!

I don't usually enjoy talking (or writing) about myself but I think its important to know your photographer, at least a little bit. I LOVE animals, especially dogs and sharks (I know, Sharks? I've been obsessed with them since I was little). As you can tell from the photo, animals bring me joy in general, even a deer trying to steal all my corn.

I also have a German Shepherd Dog named Timber! My fiancé and I adopted her from the Humane Society when she was about 7 months old and we haven't looked back since! She is my favorite model, even when she sighs and huffs at me like German Shepherds do. You will likely see photos on my socials and stories of her here!

Another animal I'm OBSESSED with is Scooby Doo! I grew up watching the old classics including the original Scooby Doo series! I love it so much, it is actually a tattoo on my leg! (Which if you haven't already, check out Silver Tuna Tattoo and Piercing in Appleton!). I have multiple tattoos, most of which can be hidden fairly easy but I plan to keep collecting them and I hope to get the chance to photograph some heavily tattooed peeps!

One of my favorite places to be is on or in the water. Whether its paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking, etc I am up for it! Water has always been my happy place, including photographing it! Its one of the main reasons I did some of my own engagement photos at Kohler Andre in Sheboygan!

Now, I'm sure reading about me is CRAZY INTERESTING, but I'm sure you are curious about the quote on top of the photo. "The best camera is the one you have with you" is an amazing quote that I believe in through and though. While I absolutely LOVE my professional gear, its not always possible to have it at my side. My phone however, is always there. You can't get as much quality from a phone as a professional camera, but the quality of the moment is what matters.

You may be thinking, why is a professional photographer saying that a phone camera works to capture the moment when she should be pushing for using professional services. Well the easy answer is you can't always have a professional photographer with you for every moment. As much as you may want to, it just doesn't happen. But moments like engagements, weddings, senior portraits, birthdays, headshots, commercial photography, etc is well worth it. I hope my little intro was entertaining and I hope you will consider working together in the future!
